Speech & Language Therapy is delivered by a team of therapists from the local primary care trust.
After consultation with the class teacher, a set of aims is drawn up which will be incorporated into the child's individual programme. Each child has a one-to-one language slot during the week with a member of the school staff or the SALT Assistant attached to the team of therapists. The work carried out in these sessions is generalised into classroom activities.
Group language sessions are also held with input from members of the SALT team, who are available for consultation with staff one day a week. They also arrange appointments with parents, to enable them to be kept informed about and involved in their child's language programme and progression.
Our Occupational Therapist takes referrals from staff for help and advice with individual children.
