Facilities
Freemantles is very lucky to have excellent facilities. We are sited on a large piece of land, which looks out onto fields on one side. The main building only dates back to 2007, since then six additional classes have been added, two in 2010 and a further four in 2018.
Inside
The main building houses fourteen class rooms. It also has a number of specialist rooms: science/ DT, food technology, sensory circuit space, two sensory spaces, a soft play space. We continue to ensure we have some spaces that can be used to support individual pupils if they are really too anxious to be in class for short periods. In addition, we have primary and secondary dining rooms, a staff room, a hall and a number of meeting rooms and offices.
The additional class rooms that have been added are modular built classes that all have air conditioning. Both of the units have foyers and additional spaces for children and young people to access within them.
All the classes in the school have their own outdoor space and the vast majority (with the exception of those in the quad ) have an internal room within their classroom which teachers can than plan the use of.
The swimming pool is 4m x 4m and approximately 1 metre deep, so is ideal for infant children learning to swim.
External Grounds
We are very lucky to have extensive grounds which enable us to have a number of separate outdoor areas. These include: a sports field, a forest schools type village, animal care, horticulture, play grounds for each key stage, outdoor gym equipment – Junior and adult sized, trim trail, ballcourt and cycle track.
