Siblings Events

The school is committed to supporting the whole family of the children who attend the school. We offer two events for siblings: Siblings Saturdays and Siblings Sailing. Both events offer siblings an opportunity to spend time away from home having fun with other young people who understand what it is like to have a brother or sister with Autism.

Siblings Saturday

Do you have a brother or sister at Freemantles School? Do you like to have fun?

The Fun for Siblings Club would like to invite you to a morning of fun and excitement at Freemantles School on Saturday 30th June from 10:00am—12:00pm.

We will congregate at 9:45am in the school Hall so that we can get cracking at the strike of 10am. You will do two activities before going home. Please complete and return the form that came home with your brother/sister by 22nd June 2018.

Siblings Sailing

The school has, for many years, run a Siblings sailing weekend in the Summer term which has always proven to be very popular. This year's Sibling Sailing Weekend was held 11th –13th May 2018.  The weekend is led by staff from Freemantles in partnership with the sailing centre staff and offers youngsters an opportunity to meet other siblings who also live with a brother/sister with autism. The Siblings travelled to Chidham to the CYE centre where they sailed, kayaked, crabbed, built egg holders, wrapped eggs, drew mostly appropriate posters, ate like royalty, jousted lemons, watched films, went in tunnels, set off fire alarms with deodorant, overran the fudge shop in Bosham and played Uno!!! A fabulous fun-filled weekend was had by all!! Look out for next year's date which will be released in the Autumn term.
