History
The history of a school can be important for some pupils, parents and staff, it can help the community to understand the background and support the development of a deeper sense of belonging. Therefore, we would like to offer a history that was researched and written by Ben, a former student of Freemantles. I would also like to thank Ben for allowing me to share to share this history on the website. It takes us up to October 2023 when the new Secondary building was due to open.
The building has now opened and is proving to be a superb resource for our children. We opened at 60% full, due to students moving from demountable classrooms, and in September 2024 we gladly welcomed more students, which now brings us to 80% full with a plan to be at 100% by September 2025.
In addition, in January 2024 we opened a temporary satellite site in Ripley at the formally known Ripley Church of England school, initially with just two classes, we welcomed a further two in September 2024.
We are looking forward to adding more photos of these schools onto our website in the near future.
